Calibration Validation

The development of a calibration for engine operation involves a number of procedures.

After the engine is run in the dyno lab and fuel and spark mapping is complete, all of the calibrations developed at Technical Services are validated in the vehicle or craft.

Cold starts, altitude testing, hot fuel testing and transients, such as acceleration and deceleration events, all need to be validated. We usually try to accumulate thousands of miles on most of our vehicle calibrations and hundreds of hours on boats and stationary engine projects.

We have a fleet of development cars, boats, motorcycles and engine packages at our facility specifically for that purpose.

Vehicles are driven on a complete temperature cycle and most are taken to altitude and the desert for validation testing.
